Men and women of any age may benefit from a forehead lift. This procedure is usually done on people in their forties to sixties to minimize the obvious effects of aging, it can also benefit people that may have inherited such conditions as a droopy brow or furrowed lines above the nose.

The surgeon begins by securing the hair in front and behind the incision area. The head will not be shaved, although the hair in front of the incision line may need to be trimmed. The incision will begin at about the level of the ears and run across the top of the forehead. If the patient has a high or receding hairline, the surgeon may make the incision just at the hairline to avoid making the forehead appear higher. Forehead skin is then carefully lifted so that portions of muscle and excess tissue can be removed. The surgeon will then close the incision with stitches or clips. The patients face and hair will then be washed to prevent irritation. The incision is then covered with a gauze padding and the head is wrapped turban style with an elastic bandage. The result of a forehead lift is a younger, more rested look.
